This Privacy Policy describes how Hostly (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Hostly mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
Information we collect
- Account information: email address and authentication identifiers used to sign in (Email/Password, Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In).
- Profile information you provide: username, bio, social handles/links, and optional profile photo.
- Content you create: listings, applications, and messages you send through the Service.
- Push notification token: an FCM token used to deliver notifications (e.g. application updates and new messages).
- Usage data: basic diagnostics and app events if enabled in your build (e.g. crash reporting/analytics).
How we use information
- Provide and operate the Service (authentication, profiles, listings, applications, chat).
- Send transactional notifications (application status updates, new messages).
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- Improve the Service (feature performance and reliability).
How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- With other users: your profile and content may be visible to other users depending on how the app displays listings, applications, and messages.
- With service providers: we use Firebase (Google) for authentication, data storage, file storage, cloud functions, and push notifications.
- For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service.
Data storage and processing
The Service stores data in Firebase services (Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging). Data may be processed in regions configured for your Firebase project.
Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion in-app via Profile → Delete account, which removes your account and associated profile data.
Your choices
- Edit profile: update your profile fields in the app’s “Edit profile” screen.
- Push notifications: you can enable/disable notifications in device settings.
- Delete account: permanently delete your account in-app.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
